The proposal will improve and upgrade the existing hall ‘to make better use of the space and to help give something back to the community’ at the hall on Lynchmere Road in Haselmere.

Works will also include the upgrade of windows to double glazed and the installation of a heating system and new insulation in the building.

A replacement outbuilding was also included in the proposal to the North of the site.

One resident, Jon Ballardie strongly opposed to the plans regarding the outbuilding on site.

In a letter of objection Mr Ballardie wrote: “The closer proximity of the new repositioned structure will result in the loss of outlook, loss of daylight and loss of sunlight to my property.’

However the application was approved by Chichester District Council on February 1.
