Flyer to be delivered to 10,000 Horsham homes by campaigners

Residents Against Greenfield Erosion (RAGE) has produced a mail shot which will be delivered to the homes of 10,000 Horsham residents over the next few weeks in response to the Horsham District Planning Framework Preferred Strategy public consultation, which ends on October 11.

It is urging residents to respond to plans which include proposals for 2,500 homes north of Horsham and a new business park.

The mail shot consists of a covering letter, which outlines the public consultation, the importance of responding and RAGE’s main points of objection, and a sample letter, which can be personalised or used as an inspiration.

The letters will also be made available on the RAGE website, Facebook page and via email [email protected].

The emailed version will allow residents to tailor the letter electronically, prior to submitting in response to the consultation. To comment online visit HDC’s website.

A spokesperson for the group said: “RAGE believes that Horsham District Council has yet again failed to engage its residents in the biggest decision in a generation.

“Despite RAGE providing HDC with critical feedback on its lack of public engagement in its last consultation, many people are still completely in the dark about the consultation, and indeed the proposal to develop North Horsham.

“While awareness is slowly growing, it is largely due to the involvement of groups like Residents Against Greenfield Erosion and the public writing to The West Sussex County Times, rather than the HDC publicity machine.”

Copies of the letters will also be available at a Rusper Parish Council exhibition on Saturday September 21 at Rusper Village Hall from 10am-4pm. RAGE will be in attendance alongside Rusper Parish Council. Refreshments will be available.
