Ford business park plans scrapped

A FOUR-YEAR-OLD plan to create jobs in Ford has been abandoned because of traffic concerns.

The Highways Agency continues to be concerned about how the roads would cope with vehicles travelling to and from the proposed Hunterford Business Park on Ford Road.

This has led to the applicant, The Hunterford Trust, scrapping the scheme rather than have it rejected by councillors.

But it is believed the firm is still interested in developing the site in a way which would satisfy the Highways Agency’s concerns.

It was in mid-August 2007 the trust revealed its outline proposals for 6.98 hectares of part of the former Ford Airfield.

The development included offices and warehouses.
