Foreign Secretary William Hague visits Burgess Hill business

William Hague MP, the Government’s Foreign Secretary, visited a business in Burgess Hill today.

Accompanied by Nicholas Soames MP and Conservative south east MEP Richard Ainsworth, Mr Hague was given a tour of Time 24 in Victoria Garden’s by the firm’s MD David Shore.

Time 24, which employes 120 staff in Burgess Hill, is one of Europe’s most established contract manufacturers providing electromechanical assemblies to many varied industries.

Over the past 20 years it has provided the wiring and electronics on over 6000 Rail Carriages in the UK, and recently won new contracts for a further 116 carriages for Southern Trains and 57 vehicles for the North London Line.

It is currently building control cabinets for the petrochemical industry in the Caspian Sea, electromechanical assemblies for radiotherapy machines, control equipment for aircraft simulators and the electrical equipment for a variety of sustainable Energy products.

Time 24 is also a supplier to the defence Industry.

The company has recently opened up a site in the Czech Republic, where it employs 75 staff, as it starts to target major European markets, especially Germany and France.
