East Sussex County Council has secured £216,000 of Government funding to allow Business East Sussex, which was launched last year, to continue.

The service aims to support companies at all stages of growth, including start-ups, companies looking to expand and those looking to relocate to East Sussex.

Cllr Rupert Simmons, East Sussex County Council’s lead member for economy, said: “The service helps businesses to find all the information, advice and support they need in one place, helping them to grow and flourish, which brings benefits not just to the company itself but to the county’s economy as a whole.”

Services offered include help with finance issues, helping businesses access training or advice and highlighting business networking events, along with other products.

Ian Smallwood, manager of Business East Sussex, said: “This is really great news for ambitious businesses in the county. In the first 10 months we have already helped more than 250 businesses, and this funding will ensure we can help many more.

“If people in the county have any business issues we’d urge them to contact the team and we’ll be able to help.”
