West Sussex County Council’s North Horsham County Local Committee will hear from representatives of the Horsham and Mid Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group on its Five Communities Plan at Horsham’s County Hall North on Monday December 15 at 7pm.

The plan, which sets out the future of NHS care in the area, includes controversial proposals to relocate three town centre practices, Courtyard, Orchard and Riverside, to a new medical centre in Broadbridge Heath.

While no final decision has been made, GPs have stressed that doing nothing is not an option, with the need to provide additional services for a rising population.

Within the proposal, a town centre base could be retained for patients, but many residents have expressed concern that the new location will be difficult to reach for some Horsham patients.

New GP services would be included as part of a new Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre.

A series of public meetings were held on the Five Communities Plan in July and September in Horsham, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Crawley and East Grinstead. The CCG has published questions raised during the initial meetings and reports on its website.

The CLC meeting will also discuss a Community Initiative Funding Application for £5,500 to help deliver a care facility for children young adults with special needs.

The Hop Skip and Jump Foundation are hoping to create a wet room and soft play area as part of its ‘Care on the High Street’ project in Swan Walk Shopping Centre.

Questions regarding council issues can be asked as part of the committee’s Talk with Us Open Forum.
