Hove MP's shop front damaged in fight – not politically-motivated attack

Sussex Police said the damage to Peter Kyle's shop front in Hove was down to a fight, and not vandals making a political statement.

The window to the Labour MP's constituency office in Church Road was damaged on Sunday (February 24).

My Kyle revealed he had been advised by police to move his office to 'a more secure location' over his 'increased role in the Brexit debate'.

A police spokesperson said: "Police received a report of a physical altercation between a group of people in Church Road, Hove around 2.25am on Sunday (February 24).

"During the altercation a window of a premises at the location was smashed. The broken window is not being treated as a targeted or political incident.

"A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. He was released under investigation and enquiries are ongoing."
