How will new parking restrictions near Horsham affect you?

In the area around the town’s railway station, the council is asking residents if they wish any changes to be made and for their views of some proposals.

Officers have worked with transport planning and engineering consultants Mott MacDonald and have prepared initial plans.

For the Elm Grove area, including Oakhill Road, MacLeod Road, Bethune Road, Highlands Road, Highlands Avenue, Elm Grove, Eversfield Road, Cotswold Court, Tanyard Close and Potters Croft there would be residents-only parking between 12pm and 2pm.

On the other side of the railway line, motorists in the north part of Ashleigh Road past Fay Road would have to display a permit between 2pm and 4pm and small parts of Ashleigh Road would be shared between permit holders and four hour free parking Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm. The whole of Wimblehurst Road would have double yellow lines with no waiting at all times.

Hawthorn Close, Garden Walk and April Close would be permit holders only.

If put into force the expected cost for a permit is £40 per annum for the first and £70 for a second where there is capacity for more than one.
