Lib Dems retain Newhaven with UKIP second

The Liberal Democrats have retained Newhaven and Ouse Valley seat on East Sussex County Council.

Carla Butler won 31.3 per cent of the votes (784 in total) with UKIP’s George Cork in second place with 28.9 per cent of the vote (724).

Tony Bradbury won 21.6 per cent for the Conservatives (540), Jan Woodling gained 12.7 per cent for Labour (317) and Ashley Price 5.6 per cent (140) for the Green Party.

Turnout was 30 per cent.
