Going into the election, there are 50 Conservative councillors, eight Lib Dems four Labour, four independents, two independent Conservatives and two vacancies. Throughout today (Friday May 7) and tomorrow (Saturday) we will bring you all the results as they come in from across the county.

LABOUR GAIN - TARRING
And that makes it five Labour gains, this time from the Lib Dems where Bob Smytherman stood down. A real three-horse race with Labour, Conservative and Lib Dem candidates finishing within around 100 votes of each other.

Adur elections all in
The Conservatives keep all five county council seats at Adur, run close in several places by Labour. We have only one division left to report in Worthing and that’s Tarring.
