MP switches allegiance in choice for PM for second time

Bognor Regis and Littlehampton MP Nick Gibb has switched his allegiance once again after Michael Gove left the race for Prime Minister.

Mr Gibb is now backing Theresa May, tweeting ‘the choice is clear’.

He said May has ‘has the judgement, experience & character to unite the Party & give leadership to our country’.

Mr Gibb announced he was backing Michael Gove after Boris Johnson pulled out of the race for Number Ten.

After Mr Gibb tweeted ‘I’m backing Boris’ on Wednesday, June 29, the former Mayor of London promptly ruled himself out the following day. Mr Gibb then tweeted: “Michael Gove is the man the party and country can trust to deliver Brexit. He’s a passionate believer in social justice and a true reformer.”
