‘Conservative Councillors at Arun took early action in 2009 to reduce council spending by 15 per cent. This required tough decisions and resulted in £3.1m savings over three years but at the same time protected front line services.

‘As a result, your council tax is frozen this year. Providing efficient and cost-effective services to residents is our main priority and we know taxpayers expect value for money in local government.

‘Arun Conservatives are committed to keeping a weekly refuse service and to continue with our excellent recycling record.

‘We will continue to support leisure, tourism and the local economy with our regeneration programme for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton and have attracted over £600m private and public sector money to invest in the district.

‘This includes a £50m Sainsbury’s food store starting soon in Bognor Regis with 400 new jobs created and the decontamination of the complete Lec site and also a new larger Morrisons store in the town centre.

Major road investment in the area;

More affordable homes for local people;

Protection of the local environment from unsuitable development;

The tackling of anti-social behaviour;

The principle of two hour free car parking in Bognor Regis:

A bid to have an enterprise zone to create up to 14,000 new jobs;

The provision of a waterpark centre at Bognor Regis; and

Better facilities for young people.
