On Tuesday February 3 the council’s planning committee had been due to discuss a retrospective planning application for an anerobic digester operation at Crouchlands Farm.

It allows farm waste to be coverted into gas, which can then be used to make energy to be fed back into the national grid.

However after legal action by Plaistow and Ifold Parish Council, the officer’s report, which carried a recommendation for approval, has been withdrawn from meeting’s agenda.

A council spokesman said: “A planning application due to be heard next week about the redevelopment of Crouchland Farm in Plaistow has been withdrawn.

“West Sussex County Council’s Planning Committee was due to consider the application at its meeting on Tuesday February 3.

“The item has been now been withdrawn from the agenda following the receipt of a late legal submission.

“The additional information requires assessment before the Planning Committee can consider and determine the outcome of the application.

“The planning committee meeting will go ahead, but will no longer be webcast. The application will be determined at a future committee meeting on a date to be confirmed.”
