Developer Devine Homes is hoping to gain outline permission from the scheme on land north of Sandygate Lane opposite the Plough pub from Horsham District Council.

According to the application the vision for the proposed development is to ‘create a new sustainable settlement extension for Lower Beeding that is integrated with the existing village’.

Of the 23 dwellings, nine would be affordable.

The Trinity Fields scheme for 31 new homes on the other side of Sandygate Lane in Leechpond Hill behind the Plough was built by developer Charles Church after being approved by HDC back in 2011.

Road safety has been one of the main concerns in Lower Beeding over the last few years. Resident Gevin White has been lobbying West Sussex County Council to cut the speed limit to 40mph on roads leading into the village and impose a 30mph limit at the top of Leechpond Hill near the proposed development site.
