“This will create jobs and help continue my plans for the regeneration of Newhaven. For the wider community this shows the Government’s commitment to clean, green energy and to help stop the climate crisis by delivering net zero by 2050.”
The Government is also confirming a boost to its previous target to deliver up to 30GW of offshore wind, to delivering 40GW by 2030. This will set us on a path to deliver net zero by 2050.
The growth of the UK offshore wind sector as a whole will support 30,000 direct jobs and another 30,000 indirectly by 2030.
