The Local Government Boundary Commission for England is consulting on an electoral review of West Sussex County Council and a draft response has been prepared and was presented to Full Council on Friday July 24.

Although original changes would have seen the Horsham district lose one of its 12 county councillors, current proposals have kept the same number of representatives for the area.

Major changes would see the Horsham Tanbridge and Broadbridge Heath ward removed and a new division called St Leonard’s Forest created. This would include parts of Roffey, Mannings Heath, Lower Beeding, Rusper and Colgate.

Broadbridge Heath would be included in the old Warnham and Rusper division and renamed Broadbridge.

Billingshurst would lose part of Shipley parish, which would be transferred to the former Southwater and Nuthurst ward and renamed Southwater and Shipley.

Meanwhile Roffey would be renamed Horsham East.
