Sussex Decides: Tories hold on to Brighton Kemptown

Conservative Simon Kirby held on to Brighton Kemptown (which includes Peacehaven) in the General Election.

However, it was quite close as Labour’s Nancy Platts gained 17,738 votes to Kirby’s total of 18,428.

The results were:

Simon Kirby (C) 18,428;

Nancy Platts (Lab) 17,738;

Ian Buchanan (UKIP) 4,446;

Davy Jones (Green) 3,187;

Paul Chandler (LD) 1,365;

Jacqueline Shodeke (SPGB) 73;

Matt Taylor (Ind) 69;

Turnout was 64.69%.
