St Peter's North Laine is the birthplace of the Green Party's influence in Brighton and Hove. Councillor Pete West was the party's first councilor in the former St Peter's ward from 1996. Even though Ian Davey is standing down, it is hard to see the ward not returning three Green councillors in May.
