Why I should be MP for Hastings: Amber Rudd, Conservatives

Amber Rudd sets out her vision for Hastings

My family moved to Hastings three years ago, and, win or lose on May 6 I intend to stay here and work towards making it a better place to live and bring up our children.

Hastings has its own unique character, but my experience of living in other places has convinced me that what worked elsewhere can be adapted to work in Hastings.

The problems we are facing aren't unique and, if we hope to prosper, we need to embrace the best ideas, people and initiatives.

I don't have a magic wand and I won't promise that electing me will solve all our problems overnight, but I will promise to do everything I can to create a town in which our young people have a future, people can earn a decent living and the vulnerable are protected.

Jobs are the key to our prosperity and my skills are in job creation.

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" perhaps best sums up my vision for Hastings. We can't continue to rely on the Government's goodwill, we deserve a chance to have our future in our own hands.
