The poll, published last week, shows 27 per cent of voters in the Bognor Regis and Littlehampton constituency intend to vote UKIP, compared with 37 per cent for the Conservatives.

At the last general election only 7 per cent voted UKIP, while 51 per cent voted for Conservative MP Nick Gibb.

The poll, funded by UKIP donor Alan Bown and published by Survation, shows UKIP would overtake the other two parties competing in the area, Labour and the Lib Dems.
