Pool marathon proceeds on cue for Littlehampton’s Jamie’s Wish

JAMIE’S Wish pocketed a hefty sum when kind-hearted pool players from Littlehampton donated almost £800 to the charity.

Members of the Littlehampton and District World Rules Pool League (LDWRPL) handed over a cheque for £780.45p to representatives from the Littlehampton-based good cause, at the White Hart, in Surrey Street.

This followed a 24-hour non-stop pool marathon at the pub, earlier this year, which saw the men from the team dress up as superheroes, French maids and even Scooby-Doo to encourage pub-goers in the town to donate.

Jody Lee, Jamie’s sister, said she couldn’t thank the men enough for all their hard work,

“We’re always so amazed at how people get behind us and help support us,” she said.

“Without all their help we couldn’t help grant the wishes of children and families who really need our help.

“We’re a small charity so we can’t always organise our own fund-raising drives, so every bit of help we get really does mean so much to us.”

Jeff Roddis and Steve Gill handed over the cash to the charity. They said that it had been a fantastic experience and one they hoped to repeat, next year.

“It’s nice to know that we’re helping a local charity. We know the money will go where it’s really needed,” said Jeff.
