Poppy collection at risk

FOR the first time in more than 30 years, Hooe may not have enough volunteers to carry out door-to-door collections in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

It follows the retirement of several long-serving collectors in the village who it has not so far been possible to replace.

The search is on for anyone who may be prepared to spare a few hours to knock on a few doors and sell poppies in aid of ex-servicemen and women and their families.

The collections are usually made at the end of October and beginning of November in advance of Remembrance Day.

Anyone who may able to help is asked to contact Liz Seal on 01424 892547 or via e-mail at [email protected]

Collection boxes will be available at the Red Lion, Hope Cottage Farm Shop, The Lamb Inn and other fixed points locally.
