It takes place on Sunday May 15 at Chesworth Farm, Chesworth Lane RH13 0AA, Horsham District Council’s countryside site on the SE edge of Horsham.

Now in its fourth year, the event is being organised by the Friends of Chesworth Farm who have planned a tail-wagging 3km scenic route round most of the farm site. Alternatively there is a mini-walk, an accessible route for wheelchairs or buggies. Both routes take in the farm’s boardwalk with views of its rare wetland area – and its dedicated dog splash.

Early registration, with profits to St Catherine’s Hospice, is £8 for the first dog and £4 each for up to two more dogs at the same address. This will rise to £10 and £5 respectively on the day. Registration is between 10am and 12 midday. Extra donations and sponsorship are up to each entrant – please contact Friends of Chesworth Farm if you would like a sponsorship form or more details. The 3km walk takes around one hour, the mini-walk around half an hour. Entry for accompanying adults and children is free so the whole family can enjoy the beautiful countryside.

There will be refreshments available in the farm’s Volunteer Centre, plus a free dental check and other canine information for your dog, offered by Arthur Lodge Veterinary Surgery from nearby Brighton Road, which is also kindly providing emergency veterinary cover for the event.

Emily Bradbury, Community Fundraiser at St Catherine’s Hospice, commented: ‘The hospice needs to raise £17,000 every day to provide people in our local community with free, vital, end of life care and support. Bark in the Park Horsham is a way that you can help fundraise for us to ensure that we can continue to provide this service to anyone in the community that needs it. Our thanks go to Friends of Chesworth Farm for organising this fun event this year and Horsham District Council for providing such a beautiful venue.’
