Post Office spokesperson, Caroline Hoare said: “Having carefully considered the feedback received, we are confident that moving is the best way to safeguard the future of the branch in the longer term. Post Office Ltd is committed to maintaining a service to Pulborough as we understand the importance a Post Office has in the local community particularly for elderly or disabled customers.

She added: “All staff at the new location will be trained to use Post Office technology and the much longer opening hours during the week and Saturday afternoon and Sunday opening will allow greater convenience for customers using the new branch.”

The service will operate from a newly formatted open plan counter to create adequate space with level access and wide doors.

Internally there will be a hearing loop and space for one wheelchair.
