The service will be provided at a combination counter in the East Street store, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the retail till, instead of a separate screened counter.

The service will be open during the store’s opening hours from 7am to 6pm on Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm on Saturday and 8am to 2pm on Sunday.

This is an extra 31 hours and 30 minutes a week more than currently offered including Sunday and Saturday afternoon.

The branch will open earlier and close later every day. It will also mark an end to lunchtime closing.

The Post Office will be closed for refurbishment from 5pm on Wednesday July 8.

Area manager David Gold said: “We know how important Post Office services are to residents in Horsham and we are confident this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community will be popular.
