Power restored after cut hits several Horsham District villages

Power has been restored after large parts of Horsham District were hit with an outage.

The areas around Pulborough, West Chiltington, Storrington, Ashington and Washington were hit by a power cut this morning, February 18.

And people were warned power may not be restored for hours.

In an update at 10.43am, the spokeswoman said: “UK Power Networks engineers are working quickly and safely to restore power to 268 customers in the Storrington area.

“Power is being restored in stages to customers after 3,224 customers initially lost supply at 9.34am today because of a fault on the network.

“The vast majority of customers had their power restored by 10.15am. We appreciate how difficult it is to be without power and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

And in a later update at 12.13pm she added: “Power supplies were restored to all but one remaining customer by 11.40am and our engineers are working to reconnect the final supply.”
