Twenty-four mums-to-be gathered on Worthing Pier on Sunday for a photoshoot with a difference.

Each woman had a letter painted onto their bump so that when they stood side-by-side, Sussex Pregnancy & Baby Fair was spelled out.

Event organiser Naomi Newland said: “It was crazy. You should have seen people’s faces as they walked past. There was a lot of interest, lots of people taking photos. It was a bit spectacular.”

Naomi, a hypnobirth practitioner, said the photoshoot would not have gone ahead if it was not for the power of social media. She recruited six new women on Sunday morning, after other volunteers had either given birth or fallen ill.

“The feedback has been lovely. They all enjoyed celebrating their pregnancy in a really unique way,” said Naomi.

This year’s Sussex Pregnancy & Baby Fair will be the second time the event has been held in Worthing.

It will take place between 10am and 2pm on Sunday, October 19, at Worthing Leisure Centre. Entry is free if visitors pre-register beforehand at www.uflourish.co.uk, otherwise it is £2 on the door.
