Prisoner fined for knuckle duster

A prisoner has been fined after being caught carrying a knuckle duster in Bognor Regis.

Lee Marshall, 41, pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon after police arrested him in Admiralty Road on November 13.

Marshall, who has since been sent to Lewes Prison for an unrelated incident of obtaining services by deception, was fined 90 at Chichester Magistrates' Court.

Defending, James Brotherton told the court Marshall used to run a car business worth 2 million and, until the summer, was married with two children, but is now divorced from his wife.

"It's fair to say that 2008 has been an appallingly bad year for him, but he is trying to knuckle down," said Mr Brotherton.
