Promenade parade to honour Scouting

Posh frocks and parasols will be paraded along the Promenade in Bognor Regis next week.

The attire will be worn by Bognor Regis (Evening) Trefoil Guild girlguiding members for a sponsored stroll to mark a centenary of Scouting.

Money raised from the walk, starting at 2.15pm on Monday, between the pier and the Felpham sea defence rocks, will go towards the Scout and Guide spirit flame project.

This will transport a flame from the Kenyan resting place of Scouting's founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell, to Brownsea Island where he held the first Boy Scout camp in 1907.
