Proposals for London waste to be scrutinised

Proposals for West Sussex to provide landfill for mountains of London's waste will be discussed at a meeting of the Joint Downland Area Committee on Monday at 7pm at Arundel town hall.

Christina Freeman, chairman of the committee, says the SoutnEast England Regional Assembly is proposing that over the next 20 years, West Sussex provides landfill for 2.6million tonnes of London waste.
