Public asked to take part in waste consultation

RESIDENTS are being invited to comment on proposals about how the county should deal with waste over the coming years.

The Waste and Minerals Development Framework - Issues and Options document proposes guidance for where waste is managed and where minerals are extracted up to 2026.

East Sussex County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council are inviting anyone in the two local authority areas who might have an interest in the issue to comment, as part of the joint consultation.

The consultation will influence the councils' joint Waste and Minerals Development Framework, whose role will be to set out the policies for future waste and minerals planning that will support key decisions on where facilities will go and how minerals will be provided for. This will eventually replace the existing Waste Local Plan and the Minerals Local Plan.

More information is available about the eight-week consultation during a series of public exhibitions - the nearest of which to Bexhill will be in Hastings Council Chamber, Hastings Town Hall, Queens Road, Hastings on April 2.
