Appleyard Studios, which opened in 2008, is aiming to raise £3,500 needed to upgrade facilities by December 19.

Founder Jeff Topp said: “Over the last few years we have struggled like most companies and have had to try and reinvent ways of keeping the books in the black. We are still here though so we must be doing something right. That of course is down to the loyal client base we have. But, we always need to keep our equipment and software up to date.

“Through the campaign we are offering rewards that are unique and exciting. For pledges from as little as £10 you could have your name on a specially produced honours board that will in the studio and be an invite only guest at our black tie re-launch next year. There are also plenty of other rewards on offer if you can dig a little deeper.”

He added: “We have rode out the recession and been fortunate to have worked with and recorded some fantastic musicians and bands from across the world, but as a small business we rely on our local community to use and support our facility.”

At the time of going to press 23 backers had raised £1,980. If you would like to help the studio reach its target and to feature as part of its history here is the link https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/570777662/appleyard-recording-and-rehearsal-studios .
