HIGH HURSTWOOD residents are being asked to attend a public meeting in the village hall at 8pm on Wednesday, February 1 to find out whether they’d like to see leisure facilities improved.
High Hurstwood Village Hall Committee has the option to take over ownership of the village recreation ground from Buxted Parish Council. If this goes ahead the committee has several aims.
These include enhancing the look of the ground and maintaining it more regularly. Hardstanding on the Chillies Lane verge to the corner with Royal Oak Lane would give structured village and recreation ground parking.
The existing temporary container should be replaced with permanent storage for the hall. Sport should be encouraged to return to the recreation ground by freeing up village hall changing rooms by relocating equipment into the new store. And pavilion facilities could be provided as part of the new storage building, also providing a smaller hall/meeting room for hire.
Most importantly, the committee members say, a village ‘heart’ would be established. All issues are open to public discussion at the meeting. Everyone is welcome.
