The town council has already voted to bring in the Ombudsman and to lobby district councillors over the cabinet’s decision not to support their proposals.

Now it has called the meeting in The Leconfield Hall on Friday evening (February 26) at 7pm to set out the facts.

In a poster drawing attention to the meeting town councillors said: “In a surprise U-turn CDC cabinet members voted ‘no’ to our skatepark.

“The children and youth of Petworth and the surrounding area told us they wanted this skatepark.

“Come to this meeting to hear the facts behind the shocking ‘no’ decision.

“Find out how you can lobby CDC to reverse the irrational decision.”
