The children, who are members of the Puddle Ducks swim academy in Hampshire and West Sussex, raised £1,048 for the children’s hospice.
Puddle Ducks provide classes at the Fire Fighter’s Charity in Littlehampton. The academy provides swimming programmes for 0-10 year olds.
Classes are provided locally at St Anthony’s School in Chichester.
Joseph Brittan, a Puddle Ducks attendee, along with his mum, helped to raise the most amount of money. Joseph is from Worthing.
Every autumn swim school Puddle Ducks hold a week long Charity Pyjama event where children raise money attending lessons dressed in their pyjamas, teaching them valuable water safety and survival skills.
This year Puddle Ducks’ chosen charity was Chestnut Tree House., which aims to provide the best quality of life for children, offering practical and social support to young people and their families.
Alison Merrett from Puddle Ducks explained, “Our Charity PJ Week is a great way of teaching our students important lifesaving skills in a fun and relaxed environment, whilst raising money for a great cause. We were delighted to fundraise for Chestnut Tree House, they do fantastic work and we will continue to support them. We want to thank all of the children for joining us this week and for all of their great work in raising £1048.”
