Pudsey time in Littlehampton and Rustington

Pudsey bear is putting in appearances across the Gazette area today (Friday, November 16).

It’s Children in Need time again, and, as ever, residents, charities and businesses will be doing their bit to help raise millions of pounds.

The Rotary Club of Littlehampton will be one such group. It has been raising funds in a two-pronged attack today.

“All that day’s takings from our charity shop in Rustington will be donated to the Children in Need appeal,” said Bill Paine, vice-president of the group.

Members, some in fancy dress, have been out in force in the village all day, collecting money from shoppers.

Everyone making a donation to the street collection will be rewarded with a sticker, and youngsters who get there early will be given special Pudsey stickers.

Cakes and fun are on offer at a new community facility, in Littlehampton.

The Play Team is unveiling its new activity centre, at 5 Evan Gardens, Littlehampton, with a creative arts day in aid of Children in Need.

“This building will provide regular art activities for children in the Littlehampton area and beyond. The Play Team have already been providing holiday activities at Chilgrove House in Wick, but are now able to provide these from their own building in the centre of Littlehampton as well,” said a spokeswoman, adding it was the charity’s first creative and therapeutic art studio.
