Pulborough’s plan for change on view

VILLAGERS in Pulborough are invited to comment on a programme for change designed to help the local community influence future development.

The Pulborough Community Action Plan is on show in the village hall on Saturday morning (September 24) and at the annual Harvest Fair in the afternoon.

It is a last chance for people to comment on the final stages of the major project to help map out the future of the growing village.

The Plan has been drawn up by Pulborough Parish Council, the Pulborough Community Partnership, businesses and voluntary groups in the village and focuses on a number of key areas including health, the environment, transport, affordable housing needs, development and sports and leisure facilities.

People living or working in Pulborough were asked to highlight issues and concerns about life in the village and the information has been used to draw up a community-based strategy to address them.

Community Partnership spokesman Richard Keatley said: ”It’s hoped the Community Action Plan will provide a powerful way for the village to influence its development and to secure investment and action from local authorities in the future.

“We are aiming to produce a definitive plan that has cross community support and will help create a better future for Pulborough.”

The current list of issues and actions can be seen on posters throughout the village and online at www.pulborough.org/community-action-plan-2011.
