Pupils break record for Macmillan fundraising

The staff and students at the Five Oaks school raised £300. The event was organised by a Secondary class, who made posters and decorated their classroom.

Staff and pupils from across the whole school all came to purchase extras for their snack or to take home to share with their families. There was tea and coffee available to accompany the delicious cakes and a really busy atmosphere as all the students contributed to making the morning a great success.

Leanne Holman, from the sixth form, said; “It was very busy and very bubbly. We raised money for Macmillan nurses. All the cakes were yummy!”

Hazel Darby, principa, said: ” A big thank you to everyone who baked, bought and helped sell the cakes. We thought we did well last year to raise over £200 – but this is amazing! Well done everyone.”

The school has held these coffee mornings for five years, and they have become bigger and bigger events. Ingfield offers a unique education to pupils and students with cerebral palsy, and is run by the national charity Scope.
