The evening featured many veterans from WWII to more recent conflicts in N. Ireland, Kosovo, Bosnia and Afghanistan.

Lydia Palmer made a presentation of a long stem poppy to each veteran and also had the privilege to assist the Member of Parliament for Christchurch, Mr Christopher Chope, in awarding Veteran Charles Searle the Legion D’honneur, Frances highest award to those who played a part in her liberation.

Steff Emmett, Musical Director of the Christchurch and District Band and Producer of “For Queen and Country” said: “Lydia’s conduct and professionalism is a credit, not only to her and her family, but to her school. Her empathy and humour made her an instant hit with the Veterans before and after the show. It would be lovely if she could make it again next year.”
