Pupils show off growing skills

CHILDREN showed off their green fingers to Jim Paice, the Tory shadow minister for agriculture and rural affairs.

Gray's Primary School, Newhaven, is working with local farmer Roger Foxwell who has provided tractor tyres in which the children grow vegetables as part of their food and farming year-long project.

Lewes Conservative Parliamentary candidate Jason Sugarman, who organised the visit, said: 'This is a good opportunity for the shadow minister to see how the children are promoting healthy eating which is so beneficial to their upbringing.'
