Pupils’ tree-mendous production

YEAR-three children at a Worthing school immersed themselves in an end of year environmentally-themed play.
The Lyndhurst First School pupils wrote their own script based on The Great Kapoc Tree, by Lynne Cherry, where a woodsman is persuaded by rainforest residents not to chop down a tree.
Heidi Esser, head of year three, said: “The children have written their own script, based loosely on the story. It’s fantastic. They have choreographed their own dancing, they have made the stage and all of their own scenery. They are really interested in the topic, in the animals and the environment side of it. It was a good culmination of all the learning they have done this term.”
