Purse thefts

Shoppers are warned to be careful following two purse thefts within the space of an hour last Wednesday.

Both female shoppers were "bumped" or "brushed" before realising their purse had gone missing from their handbag.

The first purse theft was at a shop in St Leonards road at approximately midday and the second happened around 1pm at Ravenside Retail Park.

Sussex Police suggest that anyone who carries a bag makes sure it is closed and held tightly to the body if there is no zip.

Only carry enough cash or change on you for what you need that day, and never write down your credit and debit card numbers and put them in your bag or purse.
