It features many paintings of buildings and the landscape, with a border of wildlife miniatures.

More than 30 people have helped make the map over the past year, including six children who attend Upper Beeding Primary School and three from The Towers Convent School in the village.

Pat Nightingale, of the Beeding and Bramber Local History Society, and her husband David, organised the team of artists, calligraphers, researchers and advisors.

Smaller printed copies of the map will be on sale in local outlets.

Later in the year the map, with many others from around Sussex, will be on show at Worthing library.

It will then return to the village, where it will hang in Upper Beeding village hall.
