Newhaven s MP Norman Baker and the Mayor, David Fitton, were among the first guests to cross the show home threshold.

They were shown around by David Carpenter, development director for Sea Containers Property Services Ltd.

He said the sale of the new homes had got off to a good start. We are very pleased with the new Riverside development.

It has been an undeniable success proving itself by the number of properties sold in advance of completion.

As a result, Sea Containers is looking at the possibility of a second phase of housing at the northern end of the Newhaven Marina.

It is hoped the regeneration of West Quay will provide a much needed boost to the town centre and transform one of the most prominent sites in the town.
