Queen arrives in Newhaven

The Queen has arrived in Newhaven and has begun her tour of West Quay Fisheries, at Newhaven Fish Market.

Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh arrived by helicopter and were then driven to West Quay Fisheries in a Bentley.

The crowds cheered as she stepped out of the car wearing a pink overcoat and pink hat.

The Royal Party will proceed by car to YHA South Downs, Southease, with an expected arrival time of 11.10am.

They will tour the newly refurbished facilities viewing the new ‘Glamping pods.’

They will meet staff and Duke of Edinburgh Award students staying at the centre before unveiling a plaque to mark the opening of the new facility.

They will continue by car to Harvey’s Brewery, Lewes, the oldest independent brewery in Sussex.
