Friday June 1 at 6pm. Opening of Beautiful Battle’s Diamond Jubilee Garden. Free, all welcome.

Tuesday June 5, 12.30-3.30pm. Jubilee Tea Party on the Abbey Green, Food, plus entertainment by the Cinque Ports Lindy Hoppers. Tickets £7.50.

Monday June 4 family fun and games, Bayeux Bowmen archery display, big tea party, performance by the Jubilee Choir, then dance to Swingstreet dance band, culminating in firework display and lighting of the beacon.

Events are free except tickets for the murder mystery, big tea party and dance are available from the village shop, where the gnome naming competition is still running.

Etchingham

Saturday June 2 Jubilee Picnic will be held in Queen’s Garden, 12 noon to 2pm. 1pm residents assemble for a Jubilee photo.

2pm special event at the Bistro at the Station.

7pm The Jubilee Medieval Feast in the Church, tickets, £25, from the Post Office.

Sunday June 3, from 2pm, the Etchingham Club will be showing the Royal Regatta on the big screen, with a barbecue and they will be serving special Jubilee Ales and Lager.

Tuesday June 5, at 3pm at the Church the Etchingham Singers with Courtney Kenny and invited soloists, will perform songs from the London shows 1952-53, followed by afternoon tea, tickets £3.

12.15pm HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Big Lunch on the Recreation Ground. Bring your own picnic.

The Carnival Queen and her Court will be ‘Crowned’ just before the Dance Club display at around 2pm. After the Dance Club the Youth Forum will present the Jubilee Olympics. During the afternoon there will be balloons and music will be provided Live by assorted Jazz musicians.

Monday June 4 is an open day from 10am-4pm. Treasure Hunt, 60p per entry.

At 7pm on the recreation ground, muster for the Lantern Procession – lead by The Bonfire Boyes Drummers. This will end up at the Working Mens Club around 8pm for a Concert and Beacon Lighting – Time Slot designated for Ninfield is 10.26pm!

Monday 4th June, Jubilee Street Party from 1pm. Please bring enough food (50s themed!) and drink for yourself and your guests which everyone can share. There will be a cake competition, Queen’s Head competition, “who’s the baby photo” competition and lots of games.

Winchelsea

Saturday 2nd June, Photographic Exhibition in the Lower Court Hall from 10.30 am to 4 pm and on Sunday 3rd June from 1 to 4 pm.

The Street Party in German Street will be from 4 to 11 pm. Everyone is invited and you may bring guests. Bring your own food, drink, chairs, tables, gazebos, lanterns barbeques and anything else and set up in the road. Everyone will need to clear up after themselves at the end of the evening.

Sunday 3rd June at 11 am St Thomas’s Church will be holding a Thanksgiving Service on and the Mayor Roger Neeves and Corporation will be present. The organist and Director of Music Roger Marvin is to compile the service which will be in the pattern of Remembrance Sunday.

There will be Morris Dancing by the East Sussex Morris in Castle Street from 5 to 6 pm.

Monday 4th June The Winchelsea Corporation with the National Trust has arranged a Pre Beacon Firing Celebration on in the New Hall from 7 to 9 pm. Music plus food and drink and also a dance display by Cinque Ports Lindy Hoppers.

Tuesday 5th June an Art Exhibition will be held in the Court Hall from 10.30 am to 4 pm in the Court Hall.

Tuesday 5th June the Lighting the Beacon ceremony will be held at the Beacon as from 9 pm and there will be a Reception at the New Hall.

Winchelsea Beach

Saturday 2nd June, 8.30 till 11 pm. Disco for the “young at heart” with mostly 60’s music. This will be in the Community Hall. Tickets are £10 per person which includes a fish and chip supper.
