All lines between the two stations were blocked after a train travelling between Seaford to Brighton broke down earlier in the afternoon, Southern Rail said.

Engineers investigated the problem and carried out repairs on the train in order to be able to remove it from the line.

Line re-opened just after 6.30pm.
