The Newhaven Lifeboat Summer Fete will be held on Saturday July 4 from 12noon to 4pm at Huggetts Green, West Quay, Newhaven.
There will be stalls, children’s activities and displays from Haven Harmonies, Earthquake Drum Collective and Norcross Dancers. Newhaven Lifeboat will be open to the public
The fete will take inspiration from Danny Alkins who hiked 90 miles from Newhaven to Camber Sands and back in a single weekend and Alvaro Rodriguez, who completed the South Downs Way 100 mile race.
Fete organisers Graham and Paula Hillman, said: “These recent achievements are all the inspiration we need to ensure the Newhaven Lifeboat Summer Fete this year is the best it can be.”
The Lifeboat House will be open for visitors to learn about the Respect the Water campaign and the dangers of the local waters whilst being encouraged to safely enjoy them.
The lifeboat weekend continues on Sunday July 5 with a Lifeboat display at Seaford Bay from 10.30am when, subject to operational requirements, the Newhaven Lifeboat will be joined by the Coastguard Helicopter.
