Rawson Hill committee honour chairman's long service

The committee of The Rawson Hall in Bolney have gathered to celebrate the long term service of their chairman.

Trustees, friends and family members gathered to celebrate the 29 year service of former chairman David Robins with the unveiling of a plaque in his honour.

Mr Robins first joined the committee in February 1989 and became chairman in March 1992. Exceeding his Fathers’ 23 year Chairmanship of 1965 to 1988, he is now the longest serving chairman in the history of The Rawson Hall.

In addition to the management duties associated with his role, Mr Robins has played many parts and to this day is a go-to maintenance man. The committee embarked on a project in 2000 to seek to replace the deteriorating Old Rawson Hall.

A spokesman for the Rawson Hall said: “During that time others might have admitted defeat but with grit and true dedication David led the committee to the end result , the New Rawson Hall was opened in 2015.”

Since opening, the hall has become a thriving hub of the community.

The committee have placed put up a plaque to demonstrate the high esteem with which David is held for his long service.
