THE 1940s may have been dominated by the dark days of the Second World War ... but the decade certainly produced some memorable tunes.
Malling Community Centre in Lewes presents a night of 1940s music and dance tomorrow (Saturday) from 7.30pm until 11pm.
The evening promises to offer great music and dance demonstrations of the era by the Charleston Jive Squad. A licensed bar will be provided by Commercial Square Bonfire Society.
Tickets are available from both Lewes Town Hall’s main reception and Malling Stores for £5 each, or entry can be paid for on the night for £7.
All profits made will go towards Malling Community Centre and will help towards further improvement projects in the future.
MCA Chair Liz Allsobrook said: “This event will be great for all ages, and will showcase the sounds, fashion and dancing of the 1940s. Malling Community Association is very much looking forward to this event and hope that residents continue to support the centre.”
